What the result means
- Categories
- Six: structure and function, tissue on biopsy, repolarization, depolarization or conduction, arrhythmias, family history including genetics.
- Per category
- A major criterion, a minor one, or neither - never both. Several major findings inside one category still count once.
- Definite
- 2 major, or 1 major + 2 minor, or 4 minor. Equivalently 4 or more points at major 2 and minor 1.
- Borderline
- 1 major + 1 minor, or 3 minor. Equivalently 3 points.
- Possible
- 1 major, or 2 minor. Equivalently 2 points.
- Scope
- Applies a framework to findings already gathered and interpreted. It reads no image, ECG or biopsy and decides nothing about defibrillators, exercise restriction or family screening.
