Every calculation runs locally in your browser. Data is sent only when you deliberately submit a problem report after the dialog explains which context categories apply. Do not put patient identifiers in a report. The site has no analytics or background telemetry.

Yes, after first load. A service worker caches the static bundle so every tool keeps working without an internet connection.

No. Sophie Well is a deterministic reference aid. Your EHR remains the system of record for documentation, orders, and billing. Use Sophie Well as a check, not a replacement.

Public datasets (CMS, FDA, OIG, AHA, CDC, ATSDR, NIOSH, DOT) plus published clinical literature. Each tool shows its primary citation and, where applicable, a dataset Source label with the fetched-on date in the References region under the result.

Sophie Well is a reference and educational tool. Use it to look up codes, decode statements, and learn the workflow; payer-specific rules, contracted rates, and certified billing review govern actual claims.

HIPAA obligations depend on your organization and workflow. Calculations run locally, but problem reports are transmitted to the maintainer and are not designed or approved to receive PHI. Never include patient identifiers in a report; your organization's policies govern use with patient data.

No. Every tool is a pure deterministic function or a lookup against a bundled public dataset. No models, no inference, no LLM calls, in the browser or anywhere else.

ICD-10-CM follows the annual fiscal-year update (October). HCPCS is refreshed quarterly. CPT descriptors are AMA-owned and are not bundled; structural CPT rows come from the CMS Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. Each tool surfaces its dataset fetched-on date.

Every clinical formula is implemented from the primary citation shown in its References region, and is covered by unit tests against the published example values. Sophie Well is a check on the math, not a substitute for clinical judgment.

Open the tool and choose Report a problem beside its name. The dialog explains which context categories will be sent. Sensitive tools send no form entries, generated text, query parameters, or URL state. Add what you expected, but never include patient identifiers.
