What the result means
- Grade
- grade 1 = nucleoli inconspicuous at 400x; grade 2 = conspicuous at 400x not 100x; grade 3 = conspicuous at 100x; grade 4 = pleomorphism, giant cells, rhabdoid, and/or sarcomatoid.
- Use
- validated for clear-cell and papillary RCC; not applied to chromophobe RCC. Replaced Fuhrman grade in WHO 2016.
