Result: Sarnat stage 2 (moderate): lethargic or obtunded, hypotonia, weak or absent suck, seizures common.

What the result means
- Stage 1 (mild)
- Hyperalert, normal/increased tone, no seizures; usually resolves within 24 hours.
- Stage 2 (moderate)
- Lethargic or obtunded, hypotonia, seizures common.
- Stage 3 (severe)
- Stupor or coma, flaccid tone, suppressed or isoelectric EEG.
