- Recommended
- Salicylate over 100 mg/dL acute (or over 90 with impaired kidneys), altered mental status, new hypoxemia requiring oxygen, or arterial pH 7.20 or below.
- Suggested
- Standard therapy (fluids, urinary alkalinization) failing or unavailable.
- Modality
- Intermittent hemodialysis is the preferred modality.
- Excluded
- The Done nomogram is not used (it misclassifies chronic and post-acute poisoning).
