What this is

Show the published weight-based safety bounds for common pediatric medications - acetaminophen, ibuprofen, amoxicillin, azithromycin, ondansetron, dexamethasone, epinephrine, diphenhydramine, and the rest of the everyday outpatient and ED list. Sophie Well takes the patient weight in kilograms and returns the dose per administration, the per-day maximum, and the absolute adult-cap ceiling so a clinician can see at a glance whether a proposed order is inside the documented safe range.

When to use it

Use this when verifying a pediatric dose before order entry, when a parent asks how much over-the-counter acetaminophen is safe for a febrile toddler, or when a covering provider is double-checking a weight-based order written by someone else. The bounds come from AAP, NLM/DailyMed, and manufacturer labels; they are reference values, not prescriptions - dosing for renal impairment, hepatic impairment, severe sepsis, or off-label indications can fall outside these ranges and requires a pharmacist or attending review.
