Oxytocin mU/min <-> mL/hr

Oxytocin infusion conversion aid: for a chosen bag concentration (mU/mL) converts an ordered dose in mU/min to the pump rate in mL/hr and, in the same call, a pump rate back to the delivered dose (ACOG induction titration context).

Example

Bag concentration
30 units / 500 mL (60 mU/mL)
Ordered dose
6 mU/min
Pump rate
12 mL/hr

Result: At 60 mU/mL: 6 mU/min = 6 mL/hr; 12 mL/hr = 12 mU/min.

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What you enter

  • Bag concentration
  • Ordered dose (mU/min)
  • Pump rate (mL/hr)
How this is calculated

ACOG Induction of Labor (Practice Bulletin); standard low-dose and high-dose oxytocin titration. mU/min <-> mL/hr conversion: rate (mL/hr) = dose (mU/min) x 60 / concentration (mU/mL).
