What the result means
- All required
- Age under 21; fever 38.0 C or above, documented or reported; CRP 3.0 mg/dL or above; SARS-CoV-2 detected within 60 days before or during admission.
- Two of five
- New-onset involvement in at least two of cardiac, mucocutaneous, shock, gastrointestinal, hematologic.
- Exclusion
- A final diagnosis of Kawasaki disease by the treating team counts as an alternative diagnosis and excludes the case, however complete the rest.
- Scope
- A SURVEILLANCE definition so states count cases the same way. Not a clinical diagnosis, not a treatment threshold; a child who does not meet it can still be seriously unwell.
