Kawasaki Disease Diagnostic Criteria (classic + incomplete)

Kawasaki disease criteria (AHA 2017): fever ≥ 5 days + ≥ 4 of 5 principal features = classic KD; the incomplete-KD pathway uses CRP/ESR and supplementary labs when 2-3 features are present.

Example

Fever duration
6 days
Bilateral non-exudative conjunctivitis
Yes
Oral mucosal changes
Yes
Cervical lymphadenopathy >= 1.5 cm
Yes
Extremity changes
Yes

Result: Fever 6 days + 4/5 principal features: meets classic Kawasaki disease criteria.

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What the result means

Classic
fever >= 5 days plus >= 4 of 5 principal features (conjunctivitis, oral changes, cervical node >= 1.5 cm, extremity changes, polymorphous rash).
Incomplete
prolonged fever + 2-3 features -> CRP >= 3.0 mg/dL and/or ESR >= 40 -> >= 3 of 6 supplementary lab criteria or a positive echo supports the diagnosis.
