What the result means
- Type I
- Fracture along the intertrochanteric line, greater to lesser trochanter; simple and undisplaced.
- Type II
- Comminuted fracture along the intertrochanteric line, with secondary cortical fracture lines.
- Type III
- Essentially subtrochanteric; a line crosses the shaft at or just distal to the lesser trochanter.
- Type IV
- Trochanteric region and proximal shaft fractured in at least two planes.
