ACR/EULAR Boolean Remission (Rheumatoid Arthritis)

ACR/EULAR Boolean-based remission for rheumatoid arthritis (Felson 2011; 2022 revision).

Open the calculator → Runs in your browser. Data leaves only if you deliberately send a problem report from the interactive tool.

Example

Tender joint count (28-joint), 0-28
1
Swollen joint count (28-joint), 0-28
0
C-reactive protein
0.5 mg/dL
Patient global assessment of disease activity
2

Result: 2022 Boolean 2.0: in remission; 2011 Boolean: not in remission.

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What the result means

All four required
TJC28 <= 1, SJC28 <= 1, CRP <= 1 mg/dL (= 10 mg/L), and patient global assessment on a 0-10 scale.
2011 vs 2022
the only difference is the patient-global threshold: <= 1 (2011) vs <= 2 (2022 Boolean 2.0). Strict AND; failing any item = not in remission.

What you enter

  • Tender joint count (28-joint), 0-28
  • Swollen joint count (28-joint), 0-28
  • C-reactive protein (mg/dL; threshold <= 1 mg/dL = 10 mg/L)
  • Patient global assessment of disease activity (0-10 scale)
