DAS28 (rheumatoid arthritis disease activity, ESR/CRP)
DAS28 rheumatoid-arthritis disease-activity score from the 28-joint tender and swollen counts, the ESR or CRP marker (form-specific), and the patient global VAS; banded by EULAR cutoffs.

Example
- 28-joint tender count
- 8
- 28-joint swollen count
- 4
- Inflammatory-marker form
- ESR (DAS28-ESR)
- ESR
- 30 mm/hr
- Patient global health VAS
- 50
Result: DAS28-ESR 5.22 — high disease activity (EULAR).
The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.
What the result means
- EULAR bands
- Remission < 2.6; low activity 2.6–3.2; moderate activity 3.2–5.1; high activity > 5.1.
What you enter
- 28-joint tender count
- 28-joint swollen count
- Inflammatory-marker form
- ESR (if form = esr)
- CRP (if form = crp)
- Patient global health VAS (0–100)
How this is calculated
- Formula
- DAS28-ESR = 0.56·√TJC28 + 0.28·√SJC28 + 0.70·ln(ESR) + 0.014·GH. DAS28-CRP = 0.56·√TJC28 + 0.28·√SJC28 + 0.36·ln(CRP+1) + 0.014·GH + 0.96. The two forms are not interchangeable.
