What the result means
- Type I
- AC sprain; AC and CC ligaments intact; radiographs normal.
- Type II
- AC ligaments torn, CC intact; slight AC-joint widening.
- Type III
- Both AC and CC ligaments torn; CC distance 25-100% increased.
- Type IV
- Posterior clavicle displacement into/through the trapezius.
- Type V
- Gross superior displacement (CC 100-300%); deltotrapezial fascia disrupted.
- Type VI
- Inferior clavicle displacement (subacromial or subcoracoid).
