Pitt Bacteremia Score for bloodstream-infection mortality risk.

Open the calculator → Runs in your browser. Data leaves only if you deliberately send a problem report from the interactive tool.

Example

Temperature band
>= 40.0 C or <= 35.0 C (2)
Hypotension
Yes
Mental status
Alert (0)

Result: Pitt Bacteremia Score 4/14: at or above the >= 4 high-mortality-risk threshold.

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What the result means

Score 0-14
temperature band + hypotension (2) + mechanical ventilation (2) + cardiac arrest (4) + mental status (alert 0 / disoriented 1 / stupor 2 / coma 4).
Threshold
a score >= 4 is commonly used to denote high mortality risk. Cross-links qsofa-sofa and apache2.
