Peritoneal Cancer Index (Sugarbaker PCI)

Peritoneal Cancer Index (Jacquet-Sugarbaker): 13 abdominopelvic regions each scored 0-3 by lesion size (0 none, 1 <=0.5 cm, 2 <=5 cm, 3 >5 cm or confluence), summed 0-39.

What the result means

Regions
13 regions (0-8 nine abdominopelvic + 9-12 four small-bowel), each scored 0-3 by lesion size (0 none, 1 <=0.5 cm, 2 <=5 cm, 3 >5 cm or confluence); total 0-39.
Use
higher = greater tumor burden. Selection cutoffs (e.g. colorectal ~20, lower for gastric, none strict for pseudomyxoma) are tumor-specific and advisory, not a verdict.
