Miller Gingival Recession Class
Miller classification of gingival recession (Miller 1985): predicts achievable root coverage.
Open the calculator → Runs in your browser. Data leaves only if you deliberately send a problem report from the interactive tool.
Example
- Interdental bone / soft-tissue loss
- Interdental loss, but coronal to the recession apex
Result: Miller Class III — partial root coverage anticipated.
The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.
What the result means
- Classes
- I recession not to the MGJ; II to/beyond the MGJ (both no interdental loss, 100% coverage); III interdental loss coronal to recession (partial); IV interdental loss apical to recession (none).
- Use
- Predicts the achievable root coverage to guide the surgical plan.
What you enter
- Interdental bone / soft-tissue loss
- Recession extent (only when there is no interdental loss)
