What this is

Paste or type CBC, CMP, lipid-panel, hemoglobin A1c, or TSH values and Sophie Well returns plain-language explanations of each flagged result - what the test measures, the reference range used (drawn from MedlinePlus, ARUP, Harrison's 21e, ADA Standards of Care, 2018 ACC/AHA Cholesterol Guideline, and ATA 2014), and a single calibrated "ask your clinician" prompt per flagged value rather than ten alarming questions. The narratives are tuned against the constraint "would a primary-care physician hand this to a patient at 11pm and feel okay about it" - explanation over diagnosis.

When to use it

Use this when a result lands in the patient portal between visits and the patient or caregiver wants to understand what it means without the algorithm-driven, anxiety-inducing tone that most consumer lab explainers default to. This tool interprets numbers; it does not diagnose disease, write prescriptions, or rank urgency for individual patients - the same flagged value can be expected (the patient is on a treatment that produces it), trivial (mild reference-range drift), or genuinely important, and only the clinician with the rest of the chart can tell which. Bring questions to the next visit, or call earlier if symptoms are present.
