FNCLCC Grade (Soft-Tissue Sarcoma)
FNCLCC histologic grade for adult soft-tissue sarcoma: three components summed to 2-8 — tumor differentiation (1-3), mitotic count per 10 HPF (0-9=1, 10-19=2, >=20=3), tumor necrosis (none=0, <50%=1, >=50%=2).

What the result means
- Grade
- total 2-3 = grade 1 (low grade), 4-5 = grade 2 (intermediate grade), 6-8 = grade 3 (high grade).

- Tumor differentiation: 1 = resembles normal adult mesenchyme, 2 = typing certain, 3 = embryonal/undifferentiated/synovial/doubtful
- Mitotic count (mitoses per 10 high-power fields); binned 0-9=1, 10-19=2, >=20=3
- Tumor necrosis: 0 = none, 1 = <50%, 2 = >=50%
