What the result means
- I / II
- Always / usually burns, tans minimally. Highest photosensitivity and UV / skin-cancer risk.
- III / IV
- Sometimes / minimally burns, tans gradually or well.
- V / VI
- Rarely / never burns, tans darkly or deeply pigmented. Least UV-sensitive (but still at some skin-cancer risk).
