What the result means
- Stage 0
- Prodromal / pre-radiographic: warm, swollen neuropathic foot; normal or near-normal radiographs. Active / at-risk.
- Stage 1
- Development / fragmentation: inflammation with osseous fragmentation, subluxation, dislocation. Active / unstable.
- Stage 2
- Coalescence: decreased inflammation; debris absorption, fragment fusion, sclerosis.
- Stage 3
- Reconstruction / consolidation: remodeling, rounding of bone ends, a stable fixed deformity.
