What the result means
- Seven items
- Mood, activity, sexual interest, sleep, thought disorder, appearance, insight: each 0 to 4.
- Four items
- Irritability, speech, thought content, disruptive or aggressive behavior: each 0 to 8.
- 0 to 60
- The scale defines no severity bands of its own.
- 12 or less
- The total trials commonly treat as remission. A convention, not a rule the scale states.
