What this is
Score the Wells criteria for pulmonary embolism. Check the seven boxes that apply to your patient; Sophie Well totals the points and reports the dichotomized band - PE likely (>4) or PE unlikely (<=4) - that pairs with D-dimer to support a PERC- or imaging-based workup. When to use it
Use this at the bedside when you are deciding between a low-probability rule-out (D-dimer +/- PERC) and proceeding straight to CT pulmonary angiography. Wells is one input to PE workup, not a substitute for clinical judgment, vital-sign trends, or the patient's hemodynamic stability.
