SCORE2 (ESC 2021, 10-year CVD risk, age 40-69)

SCORE2 (ESC 2021): the European 10-year fatal + non-fatal CVD risk for apparently-healthy adults 40-69, calibrated to one of four risk regions, from age, sex, smoking, systolic BP, and total / HDL cholesterol (mmol/L).

Example

Age
50 years
Male sex
Yes
Current smoker
Yes
Systolic BP
140 mmHg
Total cholesterol
5.5 mmol/L
HDL cholesterol
1.3 mmol/L
Calibration risk region
Very-high-risk region

Result: SCORE2 (very high-risk region): 10-year CVD risk 14% -- very-high category.

What the result means

Category
age-banded ESC category. European-region calibrated -- complements, does not replace, the US ascvd / prevent engines. Cross-links score2-op.

What you enter

  • Age
  • Male sex
  • Current smoker
  • Systolic BP
  • Total cholesterol
  • HDL cholesterol
  • Calibration risk region
How this is calculated
Model
sex-specific linear predictor on centered age, SBP, total & HDL cholesterol (mmol/L), and smoking; 1 - S0^exp(LP), then the published per-region cloglog recalibration by European region.
