RIFLE criteria (ADQI, Bellomo 2004): the acute-kidney-injury class (Risk / Injury / Failure) from the creatinine ratio (or eGFR fall) and the urine-output category; the worse of the two governs.

What the result means
- Creatinine/GFR
- Risk x1.5 or GFR fall > 25%; Injury x2 or > 50%; Failure x3 or > 75%, or creatinine >= 4 mg/dL with an acute rise > 0.5.
- Urine output
- Risk < 0.5 mL/kg/hr x 6h; Injury x 12h; Failure < 0.3 x 24h or anuria x 12h. The class is the worst of the two.
