Example
- Curvature of the lateral border
- Performed spontaneously, already when at rest
- Medial crease
- Performed spontaneously, already when at rest
- Lateral head of the talus
- Performed only on changing the position, for example on transferring…
- Posterior crease
- Performed spontaneously, already when at rest
- Emptiness of the heel
- Performed spontaneously, already when at rest
- Rigidity of the equinus
- Performed spontaneously, already when at rest
Result: Pirani total 5.5 of 6 (midfoot 2.5 of 3, hindfoot 3 of 3); higher = more severe deformity.
The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.
What the result means
- Midfoot (0-3)
- Curvature of the lateral border, medial crease, position of the lateral head of the talus (each 0/0.5/1).
- Hindfoot (0-3)
- Posterior crease, emptiness of the heel, rigidity of the equinus (each 0/0.5/1).
- Total (0-6)
- Midfoot + hindfoot contracture score; higher = more severe deformity.
