Milch Classification (Lateral Condyle Fracture)

Milch classification of lateral humeral condyle fractures (a common pediatric elbow injury), types I and II, by whether the fracture line reaches the trochlear groove and involves the lateral trochlear ridge.

Example

Milch type
Type I - lateral to the groove, ridge intact (stable)

Result: Milch type I: the fracture line runs lateral to the trochlear groove and does not reach it; the lateral trochlear ridge is intact, so the elbow stays stable.

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What the result means

Type I
Lateral to the trochlear groove; lateral trochlear ridge intact, elbow stable.
Type II
Into the trochlear groove; lateral trochlear ridge involved, elbow unstable.
