What the result means

< 6
Low risk of death or renal replacement.
Two cut-offs
The derivation cut at 5 (below 5: about 3% risk, negative predictive value 97%). Later validation and a trauma consensus statement settled on 6 or more, which is what this uses.
>= 6
high risk; consider renal-protective therapy regardless of the CPK. Scores > 10 carry substantially higher risk.

Points
age (1.5/2.5/3) + female (1) + creatinine (1.5/3) + calcium <7.5 (2) + CPK >40,000 (2) + non-benign cause (3) + phosphate (1.5/3) + bicarbonate <19 (2) = 0-19.
