The Jerger classification of tympanogram shapes, by the peak pressure and peak compliance of the tracing, types A / As / Ad / B / C.

Result: Jerger type B: a flat tracing with no identifiable peak.

What the result means
- Type A
- Normal peak, at normal pressure with normal compliance.
- Type As
- Shallow peak at normal pressure: reduced compliance, a stiff system.
- Type Ad
- Deep peak at normal pressure: abnormally high compliance.
- Type B
- Flat, no peak. Read with the ear-canal volume: effusion, or a perforation.
- Type C
- Peak at significantly negative pressure.
