What the result means
- Delta
- ΔP = diastolic blood pressure − measured intracompartmental pressure (mmHg). It is more reliable than an absolute-pressure threshold for deciding fasciotomy.
- Threshold
- ΔP < 30 mmHg is the published threshold for fasciotomy; in the original series this differential threshold missed no acute compartment syndrome. One data point alongside the serial exam.
