ATLAS Score (AF Recurrence After PVI)

ATLAS score (Mesquita 2018): age > 60, non-paroxysmal AF, indexed LA volume, female sex, and current smoking give a score banding AF-recurrence risk after ablation (low < 6, intermediate 6–10, high > 10).

Example

Indexed LA volume
34 mL/m²
Age > 60 years
Yes
Non-paroxysmal AF
No
Female sex
Yes
Current smoking
No

Result: ATLAS 8 — intermediate recurrence risk (6-10).

The tool opens with these values already filled in. Replace them with your own.

What the result means

< 6
Low AF recurrence after first PVI.
6-10
Intermediate recurrence risk.
> 10
High recurrence risk. Age > 60, non-paroxysmal (+2), LA-volume index (+1/10), female (+4), smoking (+7). Not an ablation order.

What you enter

  • Indexed LA volume
  • Age > 60 years (+1)
  • Non-paroxysmal AF (+2)
  • Female sex (+4)
  • Current smoking (+7)
